On January 1, 2012 the Maintenance of Certification program for those holding the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation officially became the SCMP Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program.

Not only was the name of the program changed to better reflect activities undertaken, SCMA also concurrently launched a new national standard for CPD (PDF, 323 KB) that sets out the parameters of the program, with details continuing to be administered at the Institute level.

These enhancements to the SCMP CPD program allow SCMA to ensure that current, common and consistent CPD requirements, which complement the national standard for granting the SCMP designation, are adhered to across the country.
