The Supply Chain Management Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (SCMANL) is currently seeking qualified candidates for three volunteer positions on its Board of Directors:

  1. Director - Public Relations
  2. Director – Membership
  3. Director – Accreditation

Serving on the Board is an excellent way to stay involved with SCMA, use your leadership skills, participate in shaping our profession and also earn CPD credits (10 points per year). As a Board, we hold approximately 6 - 8 supper meetings per year. Beyond that, the time commitment is driven by the level of activity, and your organizational ability.

Director - Public Relations

The Director will be responsible for public relations on behalf of SCMA-NL, which will include increasing public awareness of the Association and its activities in Newfoundland and Labrador and working with SCMA on a national communications plan.  This will be achieved through various activities including, but not limited to:

  • Working with education partners to promote the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation Program & the Supply Management Training (SMT) Program.
  • Identifying new opportunities for promotion, including job fairs, media articles, speaking opportunities, online media (LinkedIn) & etc.
  • Developing and implementing local advertising schedules (Telegram, Business News, etc.)
  • Ensuring the SCMA - NL Website, Facebook and Twitter are kept current.
  • Working with National Office to implement communications plans.

Director - Membership

The Director will be responsible for the overall planning and implementation of activities to promote membership retention and growth with respect to SCMA-NL.  This will be achieved through various activities including, but not limited to:

  • Promoting the benefits of membership, programs and events to existing and potential members (individual and corporate)
  • Generating member prospect leads through a variety of sources including the Internet, periodicals and direct leads
  • Developing and implementing resources to measure overall membership satisfaction, which might include membership surveys, exit interviews
  • Developing and maintaining membership lists and recruitment lists complete with key contacts and background information.
  • Working with National Office and other Provincial Institutes to implement membership campaigns. 

Director - Accreditation

The Director will be responsible for the overall planning and implementation of education activities for members with respect to SCMA-NL.  This will be achieved through various activities including, but not limited to:

  • Scheduling and booking workshops and online courses for the SCMP and SMT programs
  • Developing and maintaining a list of qualified instructors for SCMA programs
  • Liaise with education institutes to ensure suitable facilities for SCMP and SMT programs
  • Working with education partners to promote the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation Program & the Supply Management Training (SMT) Program.
  • Working with National Office and other Provincial Institutes to implement education campaigns.
