A strong tradition of volunteerism is what continues to ensure that we maintain our relevance and remain connected to our membership. In order to continuously nurture and develop this important resource, it is vital that we encourage, recognize and acknowledge the contributions of our volunteers.
To recognize the achievements of our members who have gone above and beyond to support the Association and supply chain profession we have developed a Volunteer Award. This program recognizes an individual's participation in the Association and their contribution of time and effort as a volunteer. Points are earned for each year of SCMAO membership and for volunteer participation at all levels of the Association.
Based on a simple points system and final selection by the Awards Committee, this honour will be bestowed on a single individual every year that meets the nomination criteria. The award will consist of a trophy that will be presented at the Annual SCMAO Conference Gala Dinner.
Volunteer Award Eligibility
The SCMAO Awards Committee may consider any individual who meets the established award criteria and is a current member (minimum 3 cumulative years) of the Association. There may be allowable exceptions under these guidelines, if they have contributed notably to the advancement of the profession of SCM and the case is strong enough to support the nomination.
The Awards Committee will evaluate, review and recommend the recipient of the Volunteer Award to the SCMAO Board of Directors.
- Points are based on the point scores established per service category, outlined in the chart below
