Rob VargaWhat a fall it has been! The Blue Jays gave us a nice ride, while the Riders gave us a ride of a different nature. Well, there is always next year I suppose!

Regardless of your political stripes, I trust you all exercised your duty and cast a ballot in the Federal Election held on October 18, 2015. Congratulations to Justin Trudeau and the Liberals on the majority government and a thank you to Stephen Harper and the Conservatives for nearly a decade of governing our great land. Most of all a special thanks to all the candidates who let their names stand to serve us. Win or lose, that is a remarkable commitment that must be commended!

Volunteering for your association is also a commitment that needs to be commended. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have volunteered your time and efforts to the SCMA. From collecting tickets and committee work to serving on our board, your dedication is appreciated. Without you, we could not succeed!

I had the pleasure of recently attending the SCMA Ontario conference in late October. It was great to see that both Saskatchewan and Ontario share many of the same successes and struggles. It is remarkable to see that our institutes are heading in a very similar direction, even though our realities are somewhat different. This tells me that as a group, the Supply Chain Management Association is focused on moving forward in unison!

I continue to be very proud of our association and the educational opportunities we provide. The SCMP remains Canada’s most sought-after and widely-held designation in supply chain management. The highest achievement in the field, it is the mark of strategic leadership. It transcends industry, sector and location. It will make a difference to you as a member and to your employer as our customer. If you haven't already, we hope that you will take advantage of the programs we have to offer. You won’t be disappointed!

Lest we forget, please consider the sacrifices made by the men and women in our armed forces this November 11.

Rob Varga, SCMP
President
