1. To whom is the program geared?

The program is ideally suited for intermediate level professionals who would like to build on the foundational knowledge they have already obtained through on-the-job experience, gain immediately applicable skills and advance in their career.

2. What are the admission requirements?

A minimum of two years work experience in the supply chain management field is required for admission to the program.

3. What documentation am I required to submit when applying to the program?

Every applicant is required to submit the following:

  1. Application for Admission Form
  2. Current resume
  3. Letter of employment on proper company letterhead from your employer present or previous which verifies that you have a minimum of two years experience. The letter should include your title, length of service and basic responsibilities. It should specifically state your length of SCM related experience with the company.

4. What is the background of program participants?

The participants come from all areas of supply chain management ranging from procurement, logistics, transportation, negotiations, inventory management and contract management. The professional levels range from intermediate to supervisory and managerial.

5. What are the program components?

The program consists of three 13-week business courses, seven (2-day) seminars and a choice of an applied research paper or final exam with multiple choice and short answer questions.

(Please note: Participants will be able to complete the applied research paper or the former program’s 3-day workshop in 2019. The final exam component will be available starting 2020).

6. Is there a required passing grade for the program?

A minimum grade of 60% is required to successfully complete each course, seminar & the final workshop. Participants must achieve a minimum overall final grade of 60% to earn their Diploma.

7. What is the length of the program?

Participants are given a maximum period of three years in which to complete the program. Most participants complete the program in just over a year given that the courses and seminars may be taken concurrently.

8. Do I have to become a member?

Membership is highly recommended. Members save $200 on each course and seminar and $425 on the three-day workshop. The total realized in savings for members over the course of the program is approximately $2,800 (including tax). It is not mandatory to be a member while participating in the programs but every program participant must be a member in order to meet graduation eligibility requirements.

9. What are the costs associated with the program?

The cost for members (including tax) is approximately $10,500 plus membership. The approximate cost for non-members (including tax) is $13,300 plus the required membership fee at the time of graduation to meet graduation eligibility. Textbooks for the three business courses are extra, totalling approximately $300.

10. Approximately how many hours per week will I have to invest in the business courses?

As a general rule, participants should expect to spend an average of 5 hours of preparation and follow up time for each lesson. Some lessons will require less work, while others may require more.

11. Is the program recognized on a national level?

The program is accredited by the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council through its National Accreditation Program (the NAP). In this capacity the program is recognized across Canada as fitting employment standards required for a well-rounded program in supply chain management.
