Liberals to dole out $2.1 billion to unclog trade, border bottlenecks
The federal government announced plans to spend $2.1 billion on trade and transport infrastructure to alleviate and prevent bottlenecks at bridges, tunnels and ports. The government will also dedicate $400 million of that amount towards improving transportation in the North.
May trade deficit hit $1.1 billion: Stats Canada
Statistics Canada reports that Canada's trade deficit grew to $1.1 billion in May compared with a $552-million deficit in April. Economists had originally predicted a $530 million deficit for May.
