Last week, SCMA made a submission to the Canadian government on the modernization of NAFTA. To prepare this submission, SCMA assembled a NAFTA Task Force of senior supply chain executives from across Canada to identify and review challenges and opportunities with the agreement.
This submission supports other initiatives that have been undertaken by SCMA to ensure that Canadian supply chain voices are heard by all NAFTA partners. As well as direct contact with officials at Global Affairs Canada and the U.S. Department of Commerce, SCMA is also working with the North American Strategy for Competitiveness (NASCO) group which is the only tri-national network of North American governments, businesses, and educational institutions, with the common goal of encouraging North American competitiveness in the global marketplace.
Stay tuned for additional updates about SCMA’s work to ensure the voice of Canada’s supply chain community is heard during these historic renegotiations, and to support Global Affairs Canada as it proceeds with the renegotiations and modernization of NAFTA.
